Major Grants
If your organisation wishes to apply for a major grant, the total cost of what you are applying for must be at least £1 million. This means that for:
Core Costs:
- your organisation’s annual turnover must be £1 million or over
Capital or Project Costs:
- if you are applying for capital or project costs, your organisation’s turnover doesn’t need to be over £1 million, however the total cost of your project must be at least £1 million
Please note that if you are applying for a local community capital project (e.g. a church or village hall), we advise you apply for a regular grant via our online portal. Typically our grants for these types of projects are up to a maximum of £30,000, regardless of the total cost of the project.
If your request meets the above criteria and you wish to express an interest in applying for a major grant, then please follow these steps:
- Check your organisation is eligible for funding by the Foundation by completing our eligibility quiz.
- If you are eligible, read our guidelines and then go to our Grants Management Portal to create a new account, or to access your existing account by clicking on the following link:
- Complete our Major Grant Expression of Interest Form, where you will be asked a few questions about what your organisation does, what it is raising funds for, how much it costs, what the shortfall is and any relevant timings.
- You will immediately receive an email confirming that we have received your Expression of Interest and will be in touch with bespoke guidance within 10 working days.
