Major Grants

Please read this section if you wish to apply for £100,000 and over (i.e. a major grant)

If your organisation wishes to apply for a major grant, the total cost of what you are applying for must be at least £1 million. This means that for:

Core Costs:

  • your organisation’s annual turnover must be £1 million or over

Capital or Project Costs:

  • if you are applying for capital or project costs, your organisation’s turnover doesn’t need to be over £1 million, however the total cost of your project must be at least £1 million

Please note that if you are applying for a local community capital project (e.g. a church or village hall), we advise you apply for a regular grant via our online portal. Typically our grants for these types of projects are up to a maximum of £30,000, regardless of the total cost of the project.

If your request meets the above criteria and you wish to express an interest in applying for a major grant, then please follow these steps:

  1. Check your organisation is eligible for funding by the Foundation by completing our eligibility quiz.
  2. If you are eligible, read our guidelines and then go to our Grants Management Portal to create a new account, or to access your existing account by clicking on the following link:
  3. Complete our Major Grant Expression of Interest Form, where you will be asked a few questions about what your organisation does, what it is raising funds for, how much it costs, what the shortfall is and any relevant timings.
